Did you know that in the past, people weren’t allowed to classify something as a machine unless it had a moving part? However, recently, we have changed our thinking and now thousands of different things are machines.

A hammer, for example, is a marvelous machine. But there are thousands of other, more exciting machines. Take, for example, things like a jet engine, a steam turbine, a water turbine, a wind generator, and a windmill. All of these things are machines, and yet we would never think of them that way. Pantographs are also machines, did you notice? Since a machine is classified as anything that makes our lives easier, it is remarkable what makes a machine.

Things like sails, wings, rudders, flaps, and propellers are a machine. In electronics, a vacuum tube can be a machine. Thousands of different things are classified as a machine, now, and the intention is to save us time and money.

When considering buying a machine, don’t do it on impulse. Sleep on it. Make sure you know what you want. To do investigation. Find the right purchase. The right purchase may not always be the cheapest.

Make sure the dealer is reputable. Machinery can be deadly.

When you use a machine, make sure you use it correctly too. If you hit the wrong place, you could break your fingers or someone else’s fingers. Please read the instructions that came with the item and remember to use basic common sense; do not rock the saw while in use.

Would you make something simple but useful, like a hammer, or something a little more complicated, like a candle or a jet engine?
