The Google Side of Wind Power

The word Google and the term wind energy are not usually found together in the same article, but as the song says, times are changing. The internet company has been pouring millions of dollars, $400 million to be exact, into alternative energy projects like this one. His latest investment of $55 million in a wind farm in Southern California represents his continued commitment to this.

The main reason they invested this time was so they could help power their huge databanks of information. Typically, when companies invest this amount of money in a project, they expect to see a monetary return on their investment. Google is no exception. This is exactly why they have invested in the past.

However, they are probably learning more about how this technology works and how beneficial it is to the environment. Google has always been known as a company that wants to do the right thing, and just because they want to see a more practical ROI this time around rather than a monetary one doesn’t mean this is an exception. However, this latest investment has caught the attention of many.

This is perhaps due to the fact that the wind power business in California has slowed down of late. This is why it seems like a risky move on their part and perhaps why other investors were surprised that Google jumped on board. They’re acting like they want to be innovators in this field, and so far they seem to be doing a pretty good job.

It seems they have some very smart business minded people on their board of directors. The decisions they have made so far have always turned out the way they wanted. They also seem to be on track with what the American public wants to see and needs to have.

As the record stands at the moment, the internet search giant hasn’t been on the losing end of any of its ventures. They either see this technology as the wave of the future and have a very good time, or they see their position in the business community as a good way to draw more attention to it, and more or less make their own luck as a result of it. Whatever the case, they seem to be on to something.

Another thing that can be shocking to people is your obvious ethical behavior. Typically a company this size is known for lack of it and a complete disregard for the people who helped make it great. This is not the case with Google and they don’t have to go out of their way to prove that point either. You can see it in their daily activities and in their obvious and genuine concern for the environment as they continue to invest millions in relatively unproven science.

All of these paths continue to point to a bright future for Google. In this case, that bright future will be powered by wind power. And if they get away with it, they’ll take everyone else on the trip too.
