Can the Boston Celtics win another NBA championship?

The last 2 seasons for the Boston Celtics have been wild to say the least. Celtic defeated the favored Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals in 08′ for the Celtics’ 17th championship. In 2009, although the Celtics did not repeat as champions, they gave everything they will remember for a long time, a fast-paced 7-game series with the Chicago Bulls in the first round. The Celtics showed why they are champions, when it seemed like the Bulls had them beat, the Celtics would always come back.

If the Celtics had a healthy Kevin Garnett, there’s no reason they couldn’t repeat as champions: The Celtics almost beat the Orlando Magic without Garnett in the second round. The Celtics’ “Big Three” — Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen — aren’t getting any younger, so this could be one of the last seasons the Celtics have a legitimate shot at the title.

Rasheed Wallace joins the Celtics after a disappointing season with the Detroit Pistons. This could also be one of the last seasons Rasheed Wallace has a chance to win an NBA title: he’s 35 years old, and in NBA years he’s much older. In 2008-09, Wallace only averaged 12 points per game, his lowest scoring average since his rookie year at 95′-96′.

Glen “Big Baby” Davis has his best season at 09 making a game-winning shot against the Orlando Magic in the second round. Davis will have to continue to improve his game if the Celtics hope to make another serious playoff run.

The Boston Celtics may not be the overwhelming favorites in the Eastern Conference; they are sure to be a contender all season long and give any team a challenge once playoff time rolls around.
