Like many other gambling games, bingo is also a game of chance. In American bingo, randomly selected numbers are drawn and players match those numbers into a 5×5 matrix that is printed or electronically represented and known as “Cards”.
The first person who has all the numbers on the cards corresponding to those numbers (which are randomly selected and drawn) is the winner and says the word “Bingo”.
There is a slight difference between Bingo being played in the UK or Housie being played in New Zealand or Australia as the calls and tickets are slightly different.

The origin of the game of bingo comes from a lottery game called “Lo Giuoco Code Loto”, played in Italy in 1530.
In 1929, near Atlanta, a Beano game was played using dried beans, rubber stamps, and cardboard sheets. Edwin Lowe, who watched that game, directed a similar game. One player who won the game is said to have yelled “Bingo” instead of “Beano”. That made the history of the Bingo game.
Bingo Game Variations
christmas bingo
Each player brings three gifts and no other participant knows what gifts other players have brought. The gifts are then removed from the bags and placed in the center of the circle.
Each participant receives the blank bingo card with 25 empty boxes before the game begins. Each participant fills the empty boxes with numbers from 1 to 40 without repeating the same number.
The game then begins with the numbers being called by the callers. Pull the numbers out of the hat and then say the number. Each person who has that number on their card crosses off the number and selects a gift from the center.
Each person who has the number that has been called comes and takes the gift from the circle.
The game continues until there are no gifts left in the circle. At this point, players “snatch” gifts from other players. The game ends when the caller runs out of another number.
Buzzword Bingo
In Buzzword Bingo, participants prepare BUZZWORD bingo cards and mark them when speaking at a meeting or speech.
The objective of the game is to mark a predetermined number of words in a row and then shout “Bingo”.
cattle bingo
Bovine bingo is played at country fairs during the summer for the purpose of raising funds.
It is a form of lottery rather than a form of bingo. By chalking lines on the grid, rectangles are made in an enclosed area of land, such as a paddock. Within the enclosed ground a cattle animal is released and where the first defecation is excreted the winner is determined.
road kill bingo
This game is played while driving to a distant destination. In this Game, images of 24 different animals are printed on paper or cardboard and randomly placed on a grid.
Whenever a player sees the dead specimen of any animal printed on cardboard or paper, that area is marked with a bingo blotter.
The object of the game is to find a sequence of five dead animals that are in the same row or column on the bingo card.
Jargon
Lingo combines the feature of two games, one is Jotto and the other is the form of Bingo. Jotto (sometimes Giotto) is a logic-oriented word game played with two players, a writing instrument, and a piece of paper.
Each player chooses a secret word consisting of five letters. The object of the game is to correctly guess the other player’s word first.
