Problems using Facebook in Firefox

Facebook is a widely spread social networking website that allows users to chat, play games, send messages/invites and do many other cool things. Sometimes users report problems using Facebook in Firefox.

There are various issues including facebook can’t load games, chat is slow, can’t connect to website and redirection.

If you are playing games on Facebook like YouVille, FarmVille, Café, or Firstworld, you must configure the Flash plugin to allow third-party content.

1. Click the web browser (FF) and go to the Flash Player Global Storage Settings panel.
2. Make sure the option “Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer” is checked.
If you are talking to your friends and Facebook chat seems to be very slow or unresponsive, you should update to the latest version of Firefox. To do this, perform the following steps.

1. Open your web browser.
2. Visit the Firefox website
3. Click the Help button on the menu bar.
4. From the dropdown menu, select “Check for updates”
5. If updates are available, click “Get New Version”
6. Click Restart Firefox.
If you can’t connect to the Facebook website using Firefox, follow these steps.

1. Check if you can connect using Google Chrome or whatever you have installed on your computer.
If you see that you can connect using other web browsers and the problem is only with Firefox, then do the following.
At the top of Firefox Windows, in the menu bar, click Tools, then select Clear Recent History
In the Time interval to clear: drop-down menu, select All.
Click the arrow next to Details to display the list of items that can be deleted.
Select Cookies and Cache.
Click Clean Now.

2. Also check the cookie settings
On the menu bar, click the menu Tools Firefox Edit and select Options.Preferences.

> Select the Privacy panel.
> Set Firefox to: Use custom settings for history.
> Make sure Accept cookies from sites is checked.
> Make sure Accept third-party cookies is checked.
> Click Exceptions.
> Make sure Facebook is not listed.

3. If you can connect on any browser, it means the Facebook site is down. You have to wait at some point.

Make sure JavaScript is enabled because in some cases Facebook errors can be caused by JavaScript issues. It is enabled in FF by default, but to check its status, you need to do the following steps.

A. Click the Tools menu and select Options in Firefox.
b. Select the Contents panel.

It is very important to scan your computer for malicious software. Also, users are unable to connect to Facebook due to Windows Registry errors causing browser corruption. The registry is a very sensitive part of the operating system where it stores sensitive information in the form of keys and codes. If there is a minor corruption in the registry, it can create problems like the browser cannot work well with the websites.
