Specs: The Canon Digital Rebel XSi is an entry level digital SLR camera. It has a 12.2MP image sensor and 3x optical zoom. This model comes with a Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens that has a maximum angle of view of 74.3 degrees. As for light sensitivity, it has a wide ISO range, which goes from 100 – 1600. It has a maximum shutter speed or 1/4000 of a second and a minimum shutter speed of 30 seconds. In this new model, Canon has included a spacious 3-inch LCD screen. In addition to the lens, this model ships with a rechargeable battery, USB cable, video cables, charger, neck strap, and manuals.

Design: The Canon Digital Rebel XSi comes in two designs that you can choose from; a solid black shell or a silver black shell. It measures 5.2 x 2.4 x 3.9 inches and weighs 16.8 ounces. The case has a mostly smooth plastic surface that feels a bit cheap. Although it has a good grip, it doesn’t really feel as comfortable as many other models on the market. Due to the new 3-inch screen, there are some changes in the layout of the controls (compared to the previous model, the Xti). Most of the controls are on the right side of the screen.

Features and performance: The Canon Digital Rebel XSi has a My Menu function where you can customize a list of functions that you use frequently. In general, the menu interface was very comfortable to use. This model does not have in-body image stabilization. To enjoy the function, you will need to use an image stabilizer lens.

General: Despite its flaws, the Canon Digital Rebel XSi may turn out to be one of the best options if you are looking for an entry-level digital SLR camera on the market due to its excellent image quality. Its low noise, color accuracy, sharpness, and dynamic range are arguably best in class. Currently it costs a little more than its competitors but thanks to its great performance I think it is worth the investment.
