Anyone who has owned an English Bulldog puppy or been around them for more than a moment knows the energy, curiosity, and relentless search for something new to play with that puppies have. And as a matter of common sense, all that energy and curiosity can only go on for so long before something goes wrong. English Bulldog puppies are prone to many things, but there are 3 main accidents that can happen.

1. Electric Shock: Especially when puppies are teething, they love to chew on anything they come across. From time to time, that may include electrical cables. Sometimes your pup may only receive a small shock (literally) or it could cause cardiac arrest and death. Keep all wires out of sight and, if possible, out of your pup’s reach to keep them safe.

2. Dog bites: Many may think that puppies almost never fight with other dogs, which could be true. However, puppies are so curious, have so much energy and want to meet everyone they meet that this is not always very safe. Other dogs may not be as excited about meeting your little one or very happy with your pup jumping on them, trying to play. Some dogs are more patient than others and will give a few warning growls to give you enough time to get your pup out of the situation. Others are not so patient and break immediately. With any new dog at any age, it’s always best to keep your puppy and the other dog on a leash for the first few meetings to ensure everyone can tolerate each other in peace.

3. Poison – Due to their curiosity, English Bulldog puppies can ingest many different things, even those that are harmful to them. Things like medicines, cleaning products, poisonous plants, or things in the garbage like ribs that could pierce your intestinal wall. It only takes one time for your pup to become seriously ill or even cause death. Make sure all medications are out of reach or locked in cabinets your pup can’t get into to avoid these situations.
