Our personalities are usually determined by our fears, courage, weakness and strengths, and those are states of mind, where do they come from? It is very clear that these conditions are the result of external influences and not the result of our natural state as we would be, if we had not allowed ourselves to be manipulated by those external influences such as family, society and its many needs, and a questionable educational system. . But even these powerful forces could not have affected us if we had not already been under the influence of a fundamental misperception about the nature of reality.

That fundamental error has to do with levels of consciousness and awareness. Most humans in the world today are born, live and die without even realizing that there is more to life than the Technicolor movie going on in their mind, because they perceive that movie as the actual real world. The truth is that this is not so, and it can be proven by developing enough self-discipline to realize that we can reach a higher level of awareness called mindfulness by some. What defines this level of consciousness is your ability to be aware of all the activities of what we call our mind. Yes, you can and do watch thoughts as they rise and fall from awareness. This knowledge represents the enormous power we have to take control of our own mind and thus exercise the power to determine the experiences of our life.

The construction of identity

We not only perceive that film or conceptual framework as the real world, but we also see that part of ourselves that is involved in the film as the real us, the one we perceive as ‘me, me, mine and me’. So the fundamental mistake is that we believe that the consciousness that is obsessively focused on the thoughts in our mind and the world created by those thoughts is not only our true selves, but also the real world. We achieve this by the simple processes of association and conditioning. So we end up identifying with our abstract minds ability to not only create conceptual realities, but also to make us believe that they are real and that we are actually the person who responds and reacts to those realities.

This is La La Land for sure. A conceptual version of ourselves living our lives in a conceptual version of reality. It is as if we have never found ourselves where we really exist, here and now. Where and when we are breathing, feeling the radiation of the star on our skin, perceiving the vibrations that we call sound after conceptualizing the listening experience. But we no longer feel sensations, we no longer experience the never-ending phenomenon of real reality as it is occurring in the ever-changing flux of life inside and outside of us, we no longer feel and experience real life because our attention is completely consumed and engaged. by the conceptual reality of our mind.

The dream and the consequences

Living our lives in an abstract dream of reality is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as your dream works for you in a positive and constructive way that allows you to make a strong contribution to the world and to life in the world. But if your life experiences aren’t what you want or expect, then your reality dream may need some tweaking, if not a complete makeover. Yeah! Not everyone lives in a good and satisfying conceptual reality. In this situation we need to become aware of our conceptual reality and how it was created in order to then begin to take the necessary steps to change our lives. Yeah! It is possible, it is not easy, but it is possible.

Our core beliefs, which are built from our fears, weaknesses, strengths, and courage, are the foundation of the conceptual framework in which we live and to which we respond. So if, for example, a person’s core beliefs are healthy, positive and optimistic with a strong self-image, then the movie of him is about living a successful and comfortable life. On the other hand, if there is low self-esteem and weak, negative core beliefs, the movie will be about failure, defeat, and endless struggle.

The makeover project

Although we have enormous power to choose, why would we choose to live our lives in a conceptual version of reality instead of the real world as it is happening, where it is happening? And how do we break the spell and break free from the dream of life and start living it? Well, the degree of difficulty will be directly related to the years you have been alive. Those are the years that you have been exposed to sleep and these are the years of constant conditioning that you will have to overcome. To all you instant gratification junkies out there, sorry, this won’t happen overnight. You will need to bring some success skills to the endeavor, not the least of which is patience.
