Top sales of NBA jerseys in 2009-2010

The NBA Store recently announced top jersey sales for the 2009-2010 season. Once again, Kobe Bryant found himself at the top of that list. Not surprising for second place on that list, two-time MVP LeBron James. The next spots were filled by Boston’s Kevin Garnett, Chicago’s Derrick Rose and Magic’s Dwight Howard. The only reason Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant was as low as 10 despite leading the league in scoring is probably because he plays for a small market team.

Sales of the NBA store are greatly affected by its sales in New York City. At Top Sports Jerseys, we have similar rankings but they are not identical. We may have a better pulse in the national average, as the store is online and can be easily accessed by buyers across the country.

Our top 5 list consists of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Rose, and Durant. That should come as no surprise, as all five players had stellar seasons. Durant’s momentum came toward the end of the season when he reached James as the league’s leading scorer. He led his team through the playoffs and helped lead the Lakers to 6 before falling short. Rose and the Bulls played tough against the Cavs, but fell short again this year. Rose’s playoff performance helped their t-shirt sales cause.

Among all the players in our top 5, only Bryant remains in the playoffs. We’ll display the results at the end of the postseason to see how the jersey sales rankings stack up. For now, rest assured that the remaining four teams – Orlando, Boston, LA and Phoenix – are making strong sales.
