PES 2010 – What is the best training?

Running out of ideas for your PES 2010 training? Having trouble mastering multiplayer games?

Realizing that the once effective training that you had been using all this time no longer works?

Need some advice on how to build the ultimate formation to dominate EVERY game, with ANY team?

Choosing the right formation will surely give you an advantage over your rival. PES 2010 gives players the ultimate freedom to customize our ideal formation. It allows us to unleash our creativity to adjust our tactics to our liking. Each of us has our own special formation that we believe is best suited for our team and our style of play.

Through research, as well as experimentation, I’d like to share the ultimate formation, which along with some selection tips and tactical game plan tips, allows any PES player to vastly improve their match performance.

Training

The most devastating formation for PES 2010 is the 4-3-3 formation.

  • 2 central backrests (CB)
  • 2 attack wings (SB)
  • 3 Central Midfielders (CM)
  • 2 ends (WF)
  • 1 Target man (CF)

This formation provides a very balanced attack and defense strategy.

Why?

  1. Let’s take a look at the defense. You have 4 defenders, with 1 or 2 CM that will fall back, to safeguard your goal. During the attack, you have 3 forwards, with 1 or 2 CM to help you!
  2. The transition from defense to attack is fast thanks to your 2 wingers.
  3. You are strong advancing on the 3 fronts. On the left flank, you have your LW, LB, and at least 1 CM. On the right, use RW, RB, and 1 CM. In the center, his 3 CM and 1 CF give him plenty of options, along with an Attack CB. You will have the same strength in whatever channel you choose to attack from!

Player selection

Choosing the right player for each role maximizes the potential of your formation and strengthens your team.

The best teams have little trouble filling every position in the 4-3-3 formation.

Here are some tips for weaker teams.

  • Choose 2 of the fastest players as the 2 wingers. You only need them to run down the flank to launch crosses.
  • Pick at least 1 tall and strong player in your midfield and place him in the middle, to act as a defensive midfielder. It helps you win high balls and is strong enough to outrun your opponents for the ball.
  • Make sure your 2 CBs are made up of 1 tall and strong player (challenge crosses) and 1 fast player (chasing the opponent’s counterattacks).

Condition

A player’s condition is indicated by their arrow, when you press R at the team selection menu, RED being the best.

I found that an average player in the best conditions plays much better than a superstar in normal conditions. You may want to take this into account, or at least put them among the substitutes.

Game plan

You can pre-assign a game plan in the TEAM menu in the Training Menu. You can pre-allocate up to four, and I’ll share the 3 most effective.

  1. Counterattack – Your players move fast and spread out across the field in an attempt to move the ball up quickly. Use this in the second half when looking for the equalizer. Alternatively, when you are leading by a goal, your opponent will attack in numbers to equalize. Use the counterattack to expose his gaps in the back.
  2. Change flank – Your LW shifts to the right, while your RW shifts to the left. His left-handed LW will be able to easily cut into the area when he’s on the right flank and shoot the far post with his left foot. Toggle it on and off throughout the game to confuse your opponent.
  3. CB overlay – Your CB charges forward, making a late run towards the box. Use it when looking for an equalizer. The CB will be unmarked when moving upfield towards the box. Assign a fast defender with great shooting power. He will be the turning point you need in a frustrating game.

Exploration

Having an idea of your opponent’s formation and players allows you to plan to neutralize them.

How?

  • Identify the weak links in the team. Do they have a weak LB? This is your chance to attack with your right flank. Do they have short CBs? You cross tall balls in the box.
  • Mark key players aggressively to limit your effectiveness. Bookmarks close them quickly. Mark a creative midfielder and a powerful Forward / Winger.

These are the tactics and strategies that I use in every game.

The weakest teams give me an unparalleled sense of satisfaction after every achievement, while the best teams give me the opportunity to play beautiful football.

These strategies will allow you to enjoy PES more and take your game to a higher level.
