Naruto Episode Guide – Naruto Shippuuden 125

Naruto Shippuuden episode 125 begins with the final clip of episode 124. Deidara detonates and tries to kill Sasuke. The explosion is designed to wipe out everything in a very large radius and can be seen from a great distance. Naruto’s team watches the explosion in amazement, while Sasuke’s team watches in dismay, realizing that the explosion was close to their rendezvous point. Fearing that Sasuke may have been killed, Karin looks for signs of how her chakra is. There are none. Presumably, Deidara, Sasuke, and Tobi have been wiped out in the explosion.

Akatsuki receives news of the three deaths. There is a brief look of surprise on Itachi’s face when he hears the news of his brother’s death. The other Akatsuki members seem divided over whether to cry out to Deidara or Tobi.

Just when you think Sasuke might really be dead, he reappears via a summoning spell. Cut and bruised, he managed to hide inside Manda and use a transport jutsu to avoid being torn to pieces. Unfortunately, Manda, Orochimaru’s favorite pet snake, is a victim of this move. Either way, Sasuke is seriously injured and they take him to rest in the city.

It isn’t long before Naruto and his team discover the outcome of Sasuke’s battle with Deidara and follow Sasuke’s trail again. Meanwhile, Team Eagle’s loyalty shines through as they demonstrate their loyalty to Sasuke. Jugo nurtures Sasuke to help him while Seigetsu and Karin argue. They may not like each other, but neither refuse to leave Sasuke’s side.

Itachi takes a moment of silence in the rain and seems as if for a moment he is in mourning for Sasuke, but his senses are strong and he reaffirms that Sasuke is still alive. We finally get a better look at Pein and a new unknown member of Akatsuki at his side. It seems that Sasuke killing Itachi is exactly what Akatsuki has planned all along. The latest surprise twist of this episode shows Tobi alive and well, and his true identity is revealed as Madara Uchiha. Who would have thought?
