Bavaro, Dominican Republic Information
Bávaro, Dominican Republic is a wonderful tourist area located within Punta Cana in the easternmost province of the Dominican Republic. Bávaro was designed as a town for resort workers who worked within the popular tourist and resort area of Punta Cana. As hotels began to be built within Punta Cana, Bávaro soon became the center of services within the area. .
Bávaro contains an area of small towns and multiple beaches. Some of these beaches include Playa Macao, Playa Roco Ki, Playa La Vacama and Playa Uvero Alto. In total, Bávaro has an incredible 10 kilometers of coastline!
The oldest hotel in Bávaro is Barceló. One of the newer hotels is the EdenH Real Arena hotel. This resort has 450 luxury rooms and 170 Paradise Club rooms. In addition, the six restaurants and eight bars make this a hotel where you can stay and have a variety of food options at your disposal. This complex also has five swimming pools, a life-size chess set, basketball courts, tennis courts, bowling alleys, and even a casino. One of the most renowned golf courses in the area, Cocotal Golf Course, is located in front of the 3 Meliá Hotels. These hotels are the incredible Paradisus Palma Real, the Tropical and Meliá Caribe. This area with these 3 hotels and golf course also includes the shopping center, Plaza Palma Real.
El Cortecito, known to be a smaller fishing village, is just beyond the 3 Meliá hotels. The oldest building in the area is Pirata, which has 3 well-known bars. These bars include Soles, Umi and Bamboo bar. Cortecito also has many restaurants, including the Captain Cook (one of the most famous). For those looking for souvenirs to take home, Cortecito has many gift shops!
